Dictation for writers and bloggers
The blank page is the hardest part of writing, and typing a full first draft only slows you down further. Talking through an idea is more natural than typing it — you speak close to three times faster than you type — which is why dictating a rough draft, then shaping it, is often faster than typing from scratch. Eko is a system-wide Mac app for writers and bloggers who draft in Google Docs, Notion, Scrivener, or their CMS and want to talk their way through a first draft, then fix and translate it without leaving the page.

Get a first draft down fast
Press ⌥D and talk through your post, chapter, or outline. Eko types it directly into Docs, Notion, Scrivener or your WordPress editor — no separate dictation app to switch to.
Rewrite without breaking flow
Select a clunky paragraph and press ⌥C to fix grammar and punctuation, or ⌥F to ask AI to tighten the pacing or shift the tone — all in the document you’re already writing in.
Translate a post for another audience
Press ⌥T to translate a paragraph or full draft in place — Eko supports 25 languages, so you can adapt a post for a different audience without a separate translation tool.
Works in whatever you write in
Google Docs, Notion, Scrivener, Ulysses, Substack, WordPress — Eko types wherever your cursor is, so it fits your existing writing setup instead of replacing it.

FAQ
Does Eko work in Google Docs and Notion?
Yes. Eko types into any text field with focus, including Google Docs, Notion, Scrivener, Ulysses, and browser-based CMS editors like WordPress and Substack.
Can dictating help with writer’s block?
Many writers find it easier to talk through an idea than to stare at a blank page — dictating a rough, imperfect first draft by voice, then editing it, is often faster than typing from a cold start.
Does Eko just transcribe, or can it edit too?
Both. ⌥D dictates raw text, but you can then select any passage and press ⌥C to fix grammar or ⌥F to ask AI to rewrite it — tighten the pacing, change the tone, or shorten it — in place.
Can I write in one language and publish in another?
Yes — select a paragraph or your full draft and press ⌥T to translate it in place. Eko supports 25 languages.
Is my draft kept private?
It can be. Eko can run fully on-device with a local model, so your unpublished drafts never have to leave your Mac, or you can use your own API key for cloud models.
